Quite a lovely experience this week at 38. We ended up doing a decent selection off their individual menu in order to meet our pescatarian dining requirements. Fine dining at its best in Tallinn. I would say by far the best food we had of the trip. Very thankful for our friends recommending 38. Art is lovely as well - was fun eating under Tommy Cash mural on the wall.
I think it was recommended by Michelin because of the Wine list. Overall, the plating and cooking method is very and very ordinary, and the food in particular is salty. We have doubts about the rating of 4.8 in google so I can feel the class of Estonia's food culture. Also I can't tell which country the entrée , main and dessert are from. If they are in Italy, Spain, or France even in Latvia or Finland the Google rating would be between 3.5 and 3.9 for sure. But Service was not bad.
Two couples ordered the degustation 5-course meny with wine-package. We are quiet picky with food but we all loved this experience. Great service. Clean and unique restaurant. Affordable prices considering the Michelin-recommendation. Would gladely visit the restaurant again!
A great place with a history and good food. Make sure you concentrate on the seafood. The location is great and the facilities splendid.
