Our walking tour guide recommended this Cafe for local food. Just after we finished our walking tour we walked into this restaurant without reservation on a weekday. This place was almost full, first though it was going to be good, guess what it was not good, it was amazing we ordered the traditional pancakes with herring and coconut milk and cherries one sweet and one savory. Both of them were amazing. It's a must try. Pair it with shots of Vana Tallinn
Don't let the unassuming exterior fool you! This local pub offers surprisingly delicious food and affordable drinks. It's a cozy spot to enjoy a meal with friends. -Great food, you have to try their pancake! -Friendly atmosphere, the warm ambiance makes it a welcoming place to hang out. It's a hidden gem worth discovering.
Pancakes, pancakes, pancakes! Sweet or savoury, Kompressor has both, in many varieties. Huge portions for the price, and good, fresh ingredients. There are vegetarian options, and a few sides on offer as well. Drinkswise, there is a good selection of alchoholic and soft/hot options. The routine is - let the staff at the counter know you're there and pick up a menu, then grab a table, choose your food, and order/pay at the counter. They'll bring out your food when it's ready. Kompressor is often busy and seems very popular in the evenings with groups, especially at weekends, so bear that in mind and maybe book ahead to be certain of a table. Kompressor is reliably open on Mondays and Tuesdays when some other places are closed, it's easy to find, one of the most resonably priced places to eat in Old Town, and the in-house wifi is another plus in its favour.
Went here for a late breakfast. The place gives "worker lunch" vibes, and is quite charming. We ordered at the bar and there were plenty of seating available. Delicious pancakes! The menu said freshly pressed juice, this was not the case. They didn't have any fresh fruit, that was a little disappointing, but overall, a really good and quite affordable breakfast!
