On my first impression, the interior of this Michelin-starred restaurant looks very classy with many traditional Chinese decorative elements and also some poshy chandeliers 😍 Onwards to the food, I ordered the dinner set and really liked the pan-fried beef wrapped with asparagus in foie gras. This dish together with the chilled abalone were scrumptious! That being said, I didn’t find the baked egg fried rice and Chinese celery in lotus root dish any special 😐 However, overall it was a good dining experience with above average food and most service expectations were met 👍🏼
The food quality and service here are consistently not bad, and the overall dining experience is quite positive. But during weekend dim sum, it can get crowded with all the tables full and the noise level high.
Such beautiful food with a stunning view. The restaurant has a a very calm vibe and the staff are great. Particular thanks to Nancy for looking after us. Will definitely be back.
We were truly impressed by this restaurant. The meticulous attention to detail and careful combination of flavours - was second to none. Even just a simple mushroom dish blew me away. This is one of my top restaurants in the world, and I have been to alot of places. Highly, highly recommended. I would fly back to Shanghai to visit Summer Palace.
