I chose to dine at this restaurant for dinner because I had previously enjoyed meals at their London branch. The atmosphere was exceptional, with a prime location very close to The Bund. I was also impressed by the service; the staff communicated in English quite well, especially in comparison to other places I visited in Shanghai. As for the food, the high quality of the ingredients was evident, which matched the prices on the higher end. However, I believe that dim sum should be served hot rather than at room temperature. On the other hand, the noodles were delicious and certainly lived up to the dish’s reputation.
Hakkasan restaurant in Shanghai located opposite the Bund. The restaurant has a cool and nice ambiance including a bar area. Some of the table arrangements can be rather close to each other and therefore the neighbor’s table conversation can be a distraction. Food wise was mediocre but price wise is on high side. Truffle Ee-fu noodles with abalone sauce was good and worth a try. The 4 different flavors dumplings was unique but not very tasty.
Delicious dumplings at one of the best locations at the Bund in Shanghai. Delicious food and an amazing view from the restaurant. The dumpling platter is an excellent choice and there are lots of additional options.
great location, big name, but not recommended for solo diners as you cannot take a menu (all menus are only as of 2 people). with a tasty tom yam kai in mind i took the chicken coconut soup. nicely served, but no taste. the dim sum were delicious. the chicken satay unfurtunately not marinated nor grilled/bbq-ed and hence not crisp. satay sauce mediocre, and nothing accompanying the dish to balace and accentuate the flavour. all in all mediocre experience
