A wonderful spot, refined but heart warming food that is made with care! We had a wonderful time here last night, we booked a private room for our large party and Rêver was able to accommodate us last minute, we enjoyed three courses and drinks, with highlights being the Beef Tataki, the pommes bravas and the oxtail lasagne and suckling pig! We had a wonderful young server all night who was very patient with us, and assisted us with any request! Thank you! Nestled in the charming Triana area of the Old Town in Las Palmas, Rêvere is situated in a stunningly refurbished traditional building, just a stones throw from the Casa de Colon, that captures the essence of Canarian architecture with its original stone work and majestic high beamed ceilings. The restaurant's ambiance is further enhanced by generously spaced seating and high-quality cutlery and crockery, which reflect the thoroughgoing value of the location. Dining at Rêvere was an experience that exceeded my expectations. Despite not offering a tasting menu, the restaurant presented a broad culinary spectrum spanning from the Canary Islands to Northern Spain, and did so with impressively sizable but well presented portions. Our meal commenced with a Carabinieri Shrimp croquette, which we ordered as an amuse-bouche. This dish was intensely flavoured, featuring a rich, deeply flavoured filling encased in a crisp panko crumb that made for a perfect appetiser. The journey continued with scallops that were cooked to perfection. Although the scallops were slightly more doused in caldo (stock) than I would prefer, which slightly overshadowed their exquisite texture, they were nonetheless a testament to the chef's adeptness, perfectly cooked. The main course of pigeon breast was truly the highlight of the meal. It was, without exaggeration, the best pigeon I have ever tasted—generously portioned breast with leg lollipops all impeccably prepared, accompanied by an imaginative array of sides including a silky mushroom purée, tender celeriac purée, and crisped puree potatoes all seasoned to perfection. The overall dining experience at Rêvere was unforgettable. The combination of the food's excellence and the venue's distinct charm makes this restaurant a must-visit. With precise and generous service, Rêvere is a culinary gem where the quality of both the food and the setting complement each other wonderfully. This meal, along with the distinctive atmosphere of the location, will indeed live long in my memory.
