its a good place, but for the people who are not speaking fluently in English or Japanese, it's really hard to order for food, although the food is good , it still needs a better waiter or helper to speak in different languages.
Very nice Yakitori place with great customer service. The chef knows we don’t know Japanese, so he used his phone to translate the words to us for each of the dishes. For non-Japanese speakers, they even have English menu provided, very thoughtful indeed! High price for value for the quality of food they deliveries. (Think their alcohol are fairly priced)
Last reviewed Toritama 3 years ago on moving to Tokyo. It has always been a favourite and cannot count the number of times I have been here. I notice that one negative comment mentioned smokey environment however, now smoking has been banned from the restaurant. Food is consistently top quality and this is the best of the 5 establishments across Asia (all of which I have been to)
I dine often at Toritama for lunch and love it. The yakitori bowls are delicious and the portion sizes are generous. One additional detail I really appreciate about Toritama is the ventilation. Many yakitori places don't have great ventilation and you end up smelling like grilled chicken at the end of your meal. Toritama's got that little detail figured out so, as you finish your last bite, you'll smell like . . . whatever you smelled like when you walked in. I would strongly recommend getting there between 1100-1115 if you want to walk in and eat immediately. Folks start to line up by 1130. Going a bit later is also a good option.
