Quintessence, located in the vibrant city of Tokyo, Japan, is a renowned fine dining experience that beautifully marries French culinary techniques with the freshest Japanese ingredients. With a reputation as a Michelin 3-star restaurant, it attracts food enthusiasts looking for an exceptional meal. The ambiance is formal yet humble, allowing the exquisite dishes to take center stage. Diners rave about the creative flavor combinations, particularly in the appetizers where Western and Japanese influences meet. The experience is enhanced by an impressive wine pairing, making it a must-visit destination for couples, families, and friends alike. However, securing a reservation can be challenging due to limited seating times, so plan ahead to enjoy a memorable dining experience.

Wonderful course meal with pleasant surprises. My only gripe with this place is the cheese / cream dish with the olive oil that is considered the “signature dish” is extremely overrated. It’s nothing mindblowing to be honest. But the asparagus, lamb, and fish were exceptional. Even the strawberry dessert was great. Honestly, I wouldn’t desperately try to dine here again but I’m content with how good this time was.
Definitely one of the best 3 star Michelin restaurant I have ever been. Very impressive creativities. Love the duck very much, amazing tender texture and still very juicy with the slow cook process.
The food was very creative. Some dishes were extraordinary. However, they have two sittings and so we went for the 2nd sitting at 8pm. We took our time, apparently too much time because suddenly courses were being delivered even before the previous course had been eaten. I was asked to pay before the final courses were delivered. This rush at the end left a bad taste in my mouth (literally). I know of other high end restaurants who abandoned the dual sittings due to the bad experiences for diners. I suggest Quintessence does the same.
Do not go here. Massively disappointing. Food was average at best. Really poor atmosphere. It was not the kind of experience I ever want to repeat.
