I am NOT a Buddhist Monk, so I may be biased but I felt like I was robbed of $200 and my appetite when I visited here last night. I did the Zen course, the food was beautifully present but it had no flavor whatsoever (especially no salt). For the dessert we were offered a fruit - yes a fruit. Why would someone pay $$$ to eat a fruit for dessert which could be had for under a dollar. Very disappointed. The best things about the place were the welcoming chef, sake and presentation of the food. I feel this is way over priced as I had lunch at a Michelin star French restaurant in the afternoon the same day for half the price with mind blowing food.
What a fantastic Shojin vegan restaurant in Tokyo. We got the 12 course vegan Shojin meal. Be warned the portions are filling with soup and rice, so come hungry! There's also a smaller menu choice. We had no issues eating it all though as the quality, flavor, creativity and playing were all 5/5. Every course was delicious highlighting a modern, fine dining experience of the traditional vegan Japanese Buddhist diet. The wine was great too. Service was lovely and hospitable. The restaurant is a little hard to find on the 3rd floor and up and elevator. A must eat experience for awesome vegan food in Tokyo.
We were in Tokyo for a business meet when our Japanese colleague took us out for a vegetarian lunch. The place has a nice ambience, serves great Japanese vegetarian food. One of the best lunches I had in Tokyo.
An incredible set meal of exquisitely prepared vegan dishes. Contemporary, fresh and creative offered in Japanese Shojin style…That means that each individual dish is a sensual experience for the palate and the eyes. Owner/chef Daisuke-san comes table side to share the items in each dish. A wonderful experience.
