Amazing sushi. Was served four different pieces of tuna and it got better and better over time. Uni was fresh. Chef was a great host. Spoke English well and patiently explained every item as it came out.
Sushi Yuu was a great choice overall, especially because the staff are very accommodating when it comes to foreign languages. If you speak a little Japanese or have plenty of omakase experience, there might be other places better suited for you. However, for first-timers—especially foreign visitors—it’s an excellent introduction to sushi culture.
Excellent sushi. Daisuke San was very warm and friendly creating a relaxed experience. The staff were also great. Fish was top notch with a few interesting bites here and there. Hand rolls at the end to make sure you leave with a full stomach is a nice touch (though we’d have already left full without them!).
This restaurant is on a quiet residential street in Minato, Tokyo. The counter seats maybe 15 people. The chef and his assistant would bring my wife and I a single piece of sushi each, explain what it was, then leave us to enjoy it while he served the others. Then he came back again and again, each time with something wonderful. I don't know how how many pieces we had, but we were definitely full at the end. Highly recommended!
