We were on our honeymoon, and disclaimer we were American tourists with quite a lot of travel experience under our belts. First and foremost: the sushi itself is DELIGHTFUL. Best pieces of sushi we'd ever had. But besides that, we were left wanting more for our overall experience. We showed up and were greeted by the staff and shown to our seats. There are about 10 seats, so while the atmosphere is intimate there were some things lacking. Firstly, no music whatsoever, so the restaurant would fall eerily quiet if conversation stopped. Second, the chef has limited English so he only spoke to the Japanese guests, and also gave them additional servings. We didn't feel like he should know English, but felt a bit slighted that the Japanese guests got additional dishes. We really loved the sushi but wish we had a better overall experience for the price and mystique of a Michelin star restaurant.

Great experience. Yuzu shave on Ikura, Anago with lime, back to back contrast between raw and cooked prawns, very well prepped kohada and especially noteworthy octopus whose texture is changed completely, beyond your expectations, thanks to lots of pounding and good marinade process.

We go here a lot for dinner. Always great and never too busy. Haleakala roll is awesome, and the miso butterfish is to die for. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Waited 2.5 hours for takeout order. I politely ask d multiple times if my food was ready. The woman kept saying just a little while longer. Finally, I said can you please go check to see what’s taking so long, I’ve been waiting over 2 hours, and she comes back a minute later with my food, that was ice cold. It was super expensive and mediocre. Pretty disappointed with the valentines dinner I brought back home to my wife. Bummed. Won’t recommend or go back.
