Awesome sushi as usual. This is my second time and I thoroughly enjoyed dinner. Was able to taste three types of Uni and various other seafood that was in season. Do try some nihonshu with sushi as it is a great pairing that everyone should try.
The strangest omakase restaurant I have ever eaten at and I've eaten at a lot of places. The chef, his finger nails were a little dirty, his sushi cuts were not very good, lazy. Most sushi chefs I've seen are very disciplined and focused. This guy is spending time chatting with the Japanese clients and laughing loudly and not very focused on his work at all. He shuffles about loudly, wipes his nose on the back of his hand a lot. The food was not great and it was way overpriced. I would not recommend.
Not worthy at all. We order the 22,000 Yen set. The food doesn't match the price. We were expecting at least one or two exquisite dishes but ended up with ordinary stuff you can get from any sushi restaurant in Tokyo for a quarter of the price. The worst experience is the urchin; locals next to us get better dishes and higher quality urchins than us. They thought we could not read the letter on the package. Notice that the best set is 25,000 yen. I also asked the waitress whether they had mistakenly given us the 18,000 set because when I checked on Tabelog, the 18,000 set had better food than us. The waitress pretended she doesn't know English and did not give any response. I have been to many Michelin star restaurants in Japan, and this is the worst experience I ever had. Avoid this restaurant if you can; it is easy to book for a reason.
This restaurant serves up really good sushi here. Service is excellent and dining ambiance is nice. To me, their most prized piece is the kuruma ebi (king prawn). This restaurant serves up the best kuruma ebi out of the restaurants I have eaten at in Japan so far. The shrimp sushi has an appetizingly beautiful shine, its flesh is supple and it is served at the just right temperature. Just recalling the experience makes my mouth water.
