I had two visits to this sushiya in two weeks and they were consistently amazing. And that kasugo(if I am not wrong..) was just out of this world. I also liked the sake menu as well.
I almost don't want to review this place because I'm afraid of it will blowing up. You are insane if you skip this place. Forget 950 a head just for food at Masa NYC, this is where you want to be.
I have known Tomoki since he opened and his 9 seat rather traditional sushi place, which was from the start destined to be stared. Tomoki is not only exceptionally creative, but warm and engaging. If you manage to go more than once, he will strive to make you subsequent visits unique as the first, picking specifically for you as he shops Tsukiji the morning of your reservation. There is none finer! It's expensive but you will be very happy to have been there.
Located near Ginza Kabuki theatre, we found とも樹 in a small alley. Don't be deceived by its looks, size and location. From the moment you open the door, you will receive utmost service and delicate sushi served. A very enjoyable 2 hour dinner. Almost 25 different dishes. Price tag can be heavy but for the freshness and quality, it is definitely worth it the price. Chef did not scrimp on anything, even the fresh flowers in the dips were awesome and delicate. Definitely well deserving of the 2 star Michelin! We had a good time and thank you for accomdating us. If you always find uni so so or not great, you have not found the right chef or place. The uni here is worth every cent. If you want to overcome eating uni, you need a trip here. Excellent husband and wife team. Wishing you both with best wishes!
