Kind of smoky place and not well ventilated. Always has a queue. We waited in line for this and enjoyed it; it was tasty! Do not order the one with the egg as in my photo and recommended as no 1 order. The egg is cooked on that black cast iron pan and once u lift the egg, you will see the underside of it black with black grease and who knows what carcinogens. Instead just order the hambuga patty with the rice and salad set. Ask them to change the little grill when it cools down. I also wiped mine before using it bc it was blackish. It was delicious!
The first (and possibly the best) halal hamburg steak you can get in Fukuoka. This branch in particular has long waiting lines as the restaurant is quite small, with customers sitting back to back - but personally I think it was worth the 40 minutes wait. There's not a lot of places where you can get halal hamburg steak in Japan, and the one here is actually cheaper than the Tokyo branch. You don't have to worry about cross-contamination as well as they prepare food separately (which they explain at the back of the menu). The menu itself in this branch isn't that extensive, just 150g of hamburg steak that you can purchase as a set that comes with unlimited rice, miso soup and salad, or you can buy either of them ala-carte. It's a cool experience grilling the hamburg steak on the stone, but if you're a slow eater the stone will lose heat and won't char your meat nicely. Highly recommend the BBQ sauce that comes with the steak, but it's honestly tasty enough on its own.
Tucked deep inside the Parco department store is one of Kiwamiya’s many restaurants. A fast paced 26 seat gem that will have long lines wrapping through the surrounding walkways. Plan on at least a 30 minute wait. This is a small shop with close seating. They offer there signature saga beef hamburg that you cook yourself on a small heated stone. They also have saga steak pieces for a little extra. Make sure to wear the bib they provide as the oily beef has a tendency to pop and sizzle.
It isn't easy finding this restaurant as there is no English name on their sign board but you will recognise it from the queue signs (the name Kiwamiya appears on the queue sign in English). Look out for a very small cafe looking place with metal tables and stools, placed very very close together - probably sits about 20 people or so in a canteen looking eatery. Yes, there is a queue all the time, there is zero ambience to talk about, you cannot have a social conversation in this place, but the beef is so good, that you should just be focused on the eating anyway :) Beef is value for money for what you get.Quality of beef is amazing. Be prepared to wait, do not wear your best clothes here as the ventilation isn't great (you will smell "Beefy"), there is no space for prams, or infants as you are very very close to one another and the entire concept is DIY so you are right in front of your own hot stone to grill your beef. There is quite a bit of splatter, so you are provided with bibs, but this isn't for infants or little kids who cannot sit still. Worth a trip just for the beef, and for the experience of a tiny little Japanese shop, where if you stick your elbows out too much, you will hit the person next to you:)
