This place definitely deserves a 5-star rating. Like other reviewers have mentioned, expect around an hour's wait. I came on a Sunday night and waited for around 40 minutes. The beef cutlets are simply delicious. And you can pair them with the sauces provided. The mentaiko was a good side dish that complimented the beef well. There's a free refill of rice if I'm not mistaken. Definitely worth the wait!
When you arrive and see a long queue, do not just stand in the queue. u can go to the entrance and get a ticket with a waiting number, no need to stand in the queue. we came 10:45 and luckily got inside for first round. 1.5 size is good for a girl with an empty stomach. beef is tender. i like that they allow you to cook the beef to the texture you like. but be prepared that the smell is quite strong and your outfit will smell too after eating
Worth the wait and smoky clothes for tender beef gyukatsu, which you grill yourself on a ceramic hotplate. The long wait can be over 1.5 hours, because the restaurant is small with limited capacity of up to 20 diners at a time. As the menu is limited to whether you want 1 or 1.5 or 2 beef cutlet, service is fast once you actually get in and sit down. Limited beverage choice of beer and pepsi and all you can drink iced green tea. The beef was tender and tasty with the wasabi and sesame sauce. The cabbage was sweet and the rice was flavorful on its own, which is expected for Japanese rice. I’ll definitely come again if I see a branch of the restaurant. But maybe I’ll wear more appropriate wear like t-shirt.
This is a small restaurant, often with a queue outside. Well worth the wait tho, for the wagyu beef which is brought to you as a breaded - but raw - cutlet sliced into bite-sized strips. You have a flame-heated stone in front of you upon which you then fry the strips of beef one by one and dip them in the various sauces provided. You also get a miso soup and a bowl of rice together with some cubes of a powdered jelly like substance (in texture not unlike Turkish delight) which I assume is the desert. There is just this one dish on the menu and your only choices are whether to have it with a beer or a soft drink, and whether to order a single cutlet, a 1.5 or a 2 (if you are feeling particularly hungry). I ordered the 1.5 and it was plenty. Very delicious and also very inexpensive (¥2000). Recommended!
