This 115 years old misal joint in pune serves very unique misal with different taste. Their misal is made in green chilli masala with a little konkani/Goan flavour to it. If you expect to eat the misal flavour that is familiar in pune, this place is not for you. Sheera and Batata bhaji are other items which are a must try.
It’s an absolutely stunning place for misal, a very different and unique style of misal with a green curry (kut) but delicious nonetheless. With a simple vintage ambience you really feel as if you’ve walked back in time when you see the restaurant’s interior and seating. Blackboard menus and lip smacking fresh food, it’s genuinely a must visit and a hidden gem. Make sure to keep your eye out for the doors of the place as it blends in so well with the rest that you could think it’s just not there
We asked for non-spicy missal (probably pune brahmin style) and it was excellent as well as potato fries which which were hot, crisp and puffed up. The pudina chutney served with potato fry was totally amazing. The misal is served with cooked flattened rice poha, fried chickpea vermicelli sev, cooked moth bean matki with gravy , and their special potato preparation. All raw materials are processed in house.
It is one of the oldest Misal Pav joint in Pune. You can see old traditional wooden furniture, mostly old employees also. It is difficult to find it, remember it is near Railway reservation office near Phadke haud chowk or Sugandhi chowk. Taste of misal is bit different and personally I didn't enjoy it.
