A century old restaurant totally justifies its fame. We had Special Mutton Biryani, Chicken Biryani and Mutton Chaanp. The biryani tastes authentic, light, but not Kolkata style as you would not get potato along with it. Mutton pieces in the biryani are too tender, too succulent. Mutton Chaanp is also delicious, a bit of oily, but tastes 'lazeej'. The people here are really courteous, service is good.
Yesterday visited Royal Indian Hotel and was pleased with the quality of the Indian cuisine offered. The mutton biryani were flavorful and well-prepared, showcasing a range of authentic spices and ingredients. However, I was disappointed by the behavior of some staff members. Their conduct was not aligned with the otherwise positive dining experience.

RECENTLY IN AUGUST 2023 I VISITED : ROYAL INDIAN HOTEL FOR DINNER. I ORDERED : MUTTON CHAP & MUTTON BIRIANI, RUMALI ROTI, NO SALAD. MUTTON CHAAP IS GOOD ,TASTY, WORTH OF MONEY. MUTTON BIRANI IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TASTELESS-BOGUS UN-EXPRESSABLE. I COULD NOT IMAGINE. INCREDIBLE. THE MONEY TOTAL GONE IN VEIN. NOW I AM THINKING WHY I WENT THERE. TODAY I ATE “KAMARHATI BIRIANI”. IT WAS SO TASTEFUL @90/-. I AM RECOMMENDING TO OTHERS : NEVER VISIT THIS PLACE FOR EATING, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
