Typical bengali fast food centre beside the daily thoroughfare. The most famous dish is their fish fry ofcourse, so without hesitation we ordered it and was served within minutes. It was hot and served with onions and mustard sauce. The coating was minimal and crunchy, and the fish was white and tasty! Great experience, the behavior of the staff is also good, you can eat first and pay later! Highly recommended if you're in the vicinity some evening 😀
The Fish Orly is a must try at Apanjan. The stuffing of Bengali Bhetki fish inside the Orly was simply awesome. Apanjan gives a lot of stuffing compared to other restaurants and cafes. We also had fish kabiraji, which was also good. But the main speciality of Apanjan is Fish Fry, ranging four sizes, small, medium and large, the prices of which are Rs 180, 200 and 230 respectively.
Worst fish fry .. they serve stale fish dipped in salt water .. please do not have this .. had ordered through Swiggy vide order no 128359897158.. these are stale rotten fish dipped in salt & vinegar & then revived .. these people are serving rotten fish stop this restaurant from selling
This is a gem. Easy walking distance from the Kalighat metro station and ideal place for an evening snack. All items are prepared after you place the order. So what you get is piping hot food. The list is usual Bengali snack items like fries, kobiraji , chop, moglai parota but what makes this place stand apart is the quality and taste. So you may want to taste everything over a period of few days. So while I had moglai parota, singara and fish fry.. which were absolutely delicious.. I saw other customers enjoying cutlets, kobiraji , chops and other items. There is no place to sit so one has to stand and eat but it's ok.. the food is so good and service is prompt. It would be a good idea to pack some items for your friends and family. I am sure they will be very happy.
