Sagar Papaji Ka Dhaba in Hyderabad is a beloved gem that captures the essence of Punjabi cuisine in a cozy, rustic setting. Established in 1985, this family-run eatery combines traditional flavors with a warm, welcoming atmosphere, making it a favorite among locals and visitors alike. The owners, a Sikh family, are often present, ensuring that every guest feels like part of the family. The menu is packed with authentic dishes like butter chicken, dal makhani, and mouthwatering lassi, and the ambiance is casual, perfect for a laid-back meal. With quick service and generous portions, it's a place where culinary memories are made and cherished.

This restaurant is brilliant. The look is very rustic and average. And look- they have open kitchens like the new 5 stars. Run by a Sikh family, all hands on and personally present. I met father and son- mom had just gone home. Extremely courteous and they serve punjabi food which is fabulous. Shout out to the owner and son who came and offered
quality has declined a bit. the owner needs to welcome ppl and atleast smile when guest comes in. came for their excellent butter chkn but quality has changed. though the Apollo fish was great
I have been frequenting this place since I was a kid (read early 80s). Birthdays, anniversaries were all celebrated here in our small cozy corner here on the ground floor year after year. The butter chicken boneless, dal makhani & aaloo gobhi & sweet lassi have been our staple here. The recent additions to the favs are: Chicken drumsticks, boneless keema and to an extent aaloo dum too. But the grand daddy of all these dishes is the yummiest chutney you can have in the whole wide world. I will recommend this place to all & 1 suggestion. Don't go to the 1st floor or above where they have the newly constructed area with AC and all. The food taste there is not the same, It is kept in hot boxes & hence looses most of its moisture & taste. Ground floor with more down to earth rustic set-up is still & will always be fav..
We just finished lunch today and I thought before I forget, let me write the review while the experience is still fresh in my mind. We ordered veg food , it was very oily, masala was same in all items, tastewise 4/10, nutrition wise 0/10. They don't have a salad on the menu, neither do they have any Raitha and most surprising, the first Punjabi food joint I have been to that doesn't offer Achar ...!!! The staff especially a Guy called Alli was rude and arrogant, others were ok. Will not recommended this place to anyone.
