Great hotel. Location is fantastic if you need to be on this side of the bund this is a great spot. Not all hotels are ideal for working but here the room Has a nice desk and plenty of room to actually work from hotel. I was upgraded to a river view and I have to say. The view was great. The staff and housekeeping was top notch. The restaurant downstairs is fantastic for breakfast. Ate there almost every day. In addition to the buffet you can have eggs made to order, fresh ice cream scooped, noodles, and also dumplings. There is also a bar open late. It gets a bit loud late at night but it’s not bad for a night cap. Overall this hotel is a great choice if you are in Shanghai. The staff is fantastic and will go above and beyond to help you out. You are also walking distance to several malls and also the three big towers.
I can confidently say this hotel is worth 5 stars, first there is a big gym and a very nice pool, secondly there is a michelin star restaurant, third of all there is a bath tub right in your room. Other notes service quailtiy is amazing, staff will even help you bring your luggage outside your room and finally most importantly there is no smoking policy in this hotel.
Under new management (the original owners sold the business to their cousin the chef). Therefore, the quality and price are the same as before the pandemic! Recommended.
My family use to come here all the time, the food was delicious and portions were good. Ever since new management took over, its ashame how bad it’s gotten. They’ve removed some of their most popular dishes and everything else is just slop. 2 of our guests couldn’t even stomach to eat their entrees. We ordered a “love boat” for two of sushi and Sashimi… what a joke. $60 and you got 1 sushi roll and some small pieces of fish. On a plate! No boat like you expect to see at most Japanese restaurants.. it was a $60 appetizer at best. I give 1 star for the quality of the sushi (for now) Over all, it’s really sad how bad it’s gotten when it use to be so good. Unlikely that we’ll be back anytime soon.
