The food here is fantastic! The Armenian dishes are as authentic add possible despite being so far from the country. The view from the balcony is unbearable with the pomegranate vines on the pillars just enough to not overpower the decor. You may have to deal with the occasional smokers but this is far better than the extremely loud music booming inside that prevents any meaningful conversation. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food can be served in waves so that all persons in your party will get up sample the delicacies.
A bit too overpriced and overhyped place. Although the ambience is good. The food is average! If you're looking to try Armenian and Bengali fusion food then you'll find subtle hints of them. The non-alcoholic drinks menu is limited to 4 -5 items and food quantity served is too less for the amount of money they charge, with average taste. We were served a prawn curry, the prawns in which were heavily undercooked and even found a metal piece in our food. But they were courteous enough to replace it with something else! So brace yourself!
This was my second visit here after winning a Table For Two competition. Though I'd extensive planning with their backend team regarding when I would visit, when we reached, the servers seemed unaware of this. However, I showed them the email & they spoke to the concerned people post which all was well. Four of us sat down to have a lunch on a lifetime. The seating was cozy & the interiors, chic. We started with Char Grilled Jewish Panir Skewer & Tonir Roasted Chicken Bucket, both of which were cooked perfectly. Entree was Panir, Walnut & Spinach Kefta and Prawn Clay Pot Casserole. Both were delightful. We ended on a high note with a Chef's Gata. The appetizing, elaborate lunch put us in a food coma. There are hardly any restaurants that serve Armenian cuisine. Lavaash by Saby doesn't do only this, but blends it with the enjoyable Bengali cuisine. Please head to Lavaash as soon as you get a chance! But they do need their servers to be more hospitable.
Great place, good service time A place worthy of all the hype. The food is brilliant and the scenery is fantastic. Surrounded by trees and an old-world decoration of the Bengal people, Lavaash is amazing. Visit him on the weekend and fall in love with it. We ordered cold coffee, fresh lemon, pomegranate-based mocktails, onion tolma, charcoal grilled skewers, manti mushrooms, gobindoboose rice and spicy chicken in Georgia sauce. Love everything. So full of flavor and such nice presentation. I just wanted the service to be a bit fast. Understandably, Sunday lunch is a busy time in any restaurant, but waiting 30 minutes for a glass of sweet lemon soda is tiring
