We are Australian tourists visiting Delhi and were recommended this restaurant, and we had the best dinner here. The food was amazing, in particular the Pakora and the Masala chai. The service and ambience were also lovely - the staff were so welcoming and accomodating of us. We’ll definitely be back!
Edible but not enjoyable. I went to this restaurant as it was in the guidebook and close to my accommodation. But I wish I ate elsewhere. Ultimately, the food was tasteless - the worst food I had in my week in delhi. I debated not finishing it and going elsewhere for dinner. It had a few tourists in, no locals, which is probably what keeps the restaurant going. Other issues show overall bad service: They had no masala tea in stock for after dinner. They had no bottled water, only tap - strange considering the number of tourists there. It was a cold day, but they were putting hot food on a cold earthenware plate, so the food was cold by the time we were eating it. The location is interesting... It's a local market area, with lots of small corner shops like tailors, laundry etc. It was interesting to walk down and peer into the lives of people going about their business. I liked that the biryani was served in its own clay pot. The lid had been baked in with dough around the lip. The waitor pierced a hole for the steam to come out. Perhaps a traditional pressure cooker? It's not far from hauz khas. So I'd recommend going there for dinner instead.
Explored the restaurant for the first time. Amazing food and well presented. Traditional Bihari cuisine served thoughtfully. Champaran meat with methi poori was too good. Sattu sharbat was very refreshing. Location of the restaurant was confusing, building wasnt very well kept. Staff didn’t seem to be professional enough. Tip: Train your staff well in order to make the restaurant popular.
You have to climb to 4th floor. Which is a very heavy task. View is good. Food is average. Price is high as compared to food portion. Service is below average. Decorum is good.
