The location of this restaurant is really tough to find. Had a lots of suggestions from my north eastern friends and finally visited yesterday. Lovely interiors. Staff is courteous but the service is slow. We arrived around 6:30 when the restaurant was empty, we were the only customers but the food came really late. It was disappointing. Iced Tea was very bland. Felt like they have used one Nestea sachet for 2 drinks 🥲. Ordered the Chef Special Dry Chilli Pork but it was like very dry. It was just some deep fried meat pieces tossed with some chilli and onion and lacked flavours. The Chicken Thali was good though. Full of authentic flavours but I would be honest it is not my palate. Priced pretty expensive as compared the other restaurants nearby to this area.
The quality of food has deteriorated over the years. Ordered the chef's special chilly pork last week. What we got were charred biscuits of pork, rather than juicy slices. The attendants were kind enough to replace the dish. But unfortunately, the next plate had too much salt. We couldn't send it back again but it was almost unpalatable. The rest of the food was decent. Ordered pork with bamboo shoots (only mildly spicy) and sticky rice. The sticky rice wasn't the usual white sticky rice. They used black rice instead, which wasn't as effective. Perhaps a bad day at the kitchen but was a disappointing experience for me and my friend. :/
Whilst visiting Kuala Lumpur Bird Park, we decided to dine at the Hornbill Restaurant for our lunch. For a humble bird park, I found the food offered at this restaurant to be really quite varied and impressive. I ordered the carrot and pumpkin soup with tasted delicious and was beautifully presented. The prices were more than reasonable and the service from the staff was quick and efficient, with food arriving at the table in a timely manner. The restaurant itself was well-kept and the tables and eating areas were free from litter. Overall, I would recommend paying this restaurant a visit if you're visiting the KL Bird Park for the day.
This is the only restaurant inside the Kuala Lumpur bird park. Food was good, but was slightly expensive. Service was okay.
