I had buffet dinner at this restaurant last week . It seemed to be quite popular as the queue was already there before it opens. We queued for about 20mins before it opens at 7.00 pm. By 8.30pm, we were told to get ready to leave as it closes at 9.00 pm. With the limited time and so much food varieties to choose from, we did not have time to enjoy the food and the night view of Shanghai. After dinner, we have to walk two floors down the tower as the lift had stop operating. Overall, I think it is not worth the visit.
5 stars! The amount of selection and the quality of the food was amazing. Easily the best place that I dined at in Shanghai. Note: I may be biased since I’m not that into the very traditional foods.
Bear in mind this is the review of an expat family who have been living in Shanghai for a couple of years. Locals will have a different perspective. The food is so-so and the view is ok if the air is clear. We were there to explore the tower and figured we'd have brunch while we were at it. The food, while decent, is not worth the price or the hassle. The lines are too long and almost no one speaks English, so you're going to have to work for it. There is a time limit that you can be there. Unless you know what you're doing, you'll have to come early to get through the crowd, figure out where you're going, get up to the restaurant, and be seated, then eat quickly before they kick you out. Bottom line for my family was that it was not worth the trouble.
The view at night is impressive, so definitely worth visiting the tower. However, I don’t recommend going to the restaurant. You pay top price for a very average meal, most likely sharing a table with people you don’t know. Expect long queues and a mad rush to get a table by the window.
