I am a big fan of Korean Cuisine. I"I’ve tried Korean food all over the world, but this place really stands out. The quality of ingredients in every dish is top-notch, and the culinary techniques used in both preparation and presentation are highly impressive. The flavors were delightful and well-balanced. Service was excellent—the waitstaff was attentive and always on top of things. In my opinion, the quality and value are well worth it. My only regret was not being able to purchase some kimchi to go. Although they have an extended menu, this item isn’t available for takeaway. Overall, it's a restaurant with a good ambiance, and it’s a great place to experience authentic Korean cuisine. Highly recommended!"

Nestled in the heart of Gulshan, Goong The Castle is an elegant Korean dining experience that transports you to a different world the moment you step in. The restaurant's ambience is a blend of traditional Korean aesthetics and modern luxury, making it an ideal spot for both casual dining and special occasions. The decor at Goong The Castle is truly a feast for the eyes. The restaurant is designed to resemble a traditional Korean castle, with intricate woodwork, soft lighting, and tasteful artwork adorning the walls. The seating is comfortable, with both private dining areas and communal tables, making it suitable for intimate dinners or larger gatherings. The menu at Goong The Castle is extensive, offering a wide variety of authentic Korean dishes. The highlight is undoubtedly the barbecue, where diners can grill their own meats at the table. The quality of the ingredients is top-notch, with the beef and pork being particularly tender and flavorful. The side dishes (banchan) are plentiful and varied, providing a perfect complement to the main dishes. The kimchi, a staple of Korean cuisine, is well-prepared and has the right balance of spice and tanginess. For those less inclined towards barbecue, the menu also offers a range of other traditional dishes such as bibimbap, japchae, and various stews. The seafood pancake (haemul pajeon) is crispy and generously filled with fresh seafood, while the spicy tofu stew (soondubu jjigae) is comforting and rich in flavor. The service at Goong The Castle is attentive and polite, with staff members eager to explain the menu and offer recommendations. They are quick to respond to requests and ensure that the dining experience is smooth and enjoyable. However, during peak hours, the service can be slightly slower due to the high volume of diner. Goong The Castle is on the pricier side, especially compared to other dining options in Gulshan. However, considering the quality of the food, the unique dining experience, and the elegant setting, it offers good value for money. It's a place where you go not just to eat, but to savor a culinary journey. Goong The Castle is a must-visit for anyone in Dhaka looking to experience authentic Korean cuisine in a luxurious setting. Whether you're a fan of Korean food or just looking for a unique dining experience, this restaurant is sure to impress. Despite the slightly higher prices, the overall experience is well worth it.

Tucked away on a quiet (for Dhaka) street, I've walked by this restaurant many times wondering when I'd get a chance to stop by. Well... tonight was my chance, and after enjoying a wonderful meal, I expect to wander in for dinners often! After entering into the guarded parking garage, I was greeted at the ground level door, spritzed with hand spray, and walked up the stairs to Goong's entrance. Staff were pleasant and welcoming at every step, and I was seated in a quiet area at a table by myself. The restaurant is nicely decorated without being overwrought, and it is quiet and subdued. The ambitious menu included fish, beef, lamb, pork, and chicken, along with a number of sushi and sashimi entrees. There were quite a few things - lamb chops, for instance - that I really wanted to try. But this night, I satisfied a craving for dolsat bibimbap. I know, not very exciting. But it's my point of reference. The banchan were excellent, including a surprise cup of warm pumpkin soup. And the bibambap was excellent, sizzling hot, flavorful, and nicely mixed yet with each constituent holding its own place. A cup of cool cinnamon tea ended the meal, with a slice of apple and a crunch rice cake. This was a wonderful meal, in a welcoming setting - and a menu that will compel me to return, again and again.
