This very expensive food platform had made me satisfied despite it’s very high cost. We had the experience of having dinner with Rice, Hilsha fry & patury, Dal, gourd (Korola vaji), Kachki chorchori. What I must say the taste of Dal (300 tk) and Korola vaji (200tk) was so delicious, exceptionally good that the price didn’t hurt me. Other fish items were good but not the best.
Paturi in Banani delivers a memorable Bengali dining experience with an elevated twist. Known for its authentic, refined flavors, this restaurant is ideal for anyone who loves Bengali cuisine but prefers it with a touch less spiciness. It’s a go-to spot for visitors to Bangladesh wanting to explore local flavors in a more balanced, mild form. While the prices are higher than typical Bengali restaurants, the quality of ingredients, presentation, and ambiance make it worth the splurge. The service is attentive, and most dishes are spot-on, with vibrant flavors and the traditional essence of Bengali cuisine. However, I did find the Sorshe Ilish (Hilsha fish with mustard) a bit disappointing. The mustard didn’t have the usual punch—it tasted somewhat bitter and lacked the freshness that typically makes this dish a standout. That aside, the rest of the meal was fantastic, capturing the soul of Bengali cooking beautifully. Overall, Paturi is a fantastic choice, and despite the Sorshe Ilish, I’d still rate it a solid 8 out of 10. Highly recommended!
We made a reservation for a business diner for 5 persons. 15 minutes before the dinner, they called us to cancel the dinner without giving any explanation. Non professional at all.
Horrible food. Especially for vegetarians. They project themselves as an upmarket restaurant but the staff quality is poor who can’t understand basic instructions in the food preparation. Vegetarian curries we’re just boiled vegetable in broth. Literally! No gravy. Overall the experience was a one star and that’s being kind
