We had a fantastic dinner at Estelle. We had the tasting menu, and the restaurant was able to cater for vegetarians. The price was very reasonable, and the wine pours were generous. There was a minor mix up with the wine pairing, but this was quickly resolved. Standout was the pea tart, that reminded me of a similar dish I had in London.
The five star experience you are looking for north of the Yarra is Estelle. It has been on my ‘want to eat here’ list for years. On Monday night my wish came true in the most spontaneous of circumstances. I was delighted it was one of the few places open on the coolest street in the world on Monday night, it was quiet and we literally walked in hoping for a meal and were accommodated without a booking. It was such a treat. I loved everything about the experience. The interiors really add to the experience of feeling like you were having a special culinary experience. The attention by the staff was superb on all levels. And the food was delicious. I had built up Estelle to be a place I had to book weeks in advance so I was overjoyed to be able to walk in on a quiet wintery Monday night and have an exceptional experience. The wattleseed desert was a real treat.

Given its reputation i was especially looking forward to our booking here on steak night.The food was lovely but the service a bit patchy.Maybe just a bit of an off night.Will certainly go again but
