I can definitely understand how this place is such a fine dining staple. Deceptively casual inside and out but with intelligent and delicious Australian dining. The little move during the night was very unique and fun. Staff were super gracious and friendly. Desserts were a rare highlight Overall awesome night, definitely recommend!
Very interesting dining experience. It was fun to try something different. I ate things I either didn’t know existed or never thought I would. Everything had 100% effort put into it and it has been one of our most memorable fine dining experiences so far. Very cool/chic ambience. Excellent acoustics made for an intimate and cosy feel. Pretty special really. All staff were exceptional ⭐️
Sensational experience. Lovely hosts and the food was very Australian and zesty and flavousom. We had the wine sharing option with some interesting wines and a vermouth made locally in Victoria. Clonakilla and Ravensworth had some Canberra and Hilltops wine on the list. Would love to see some Grove Estate Wines on the list.
We'd been meaning to go to Attica for a long time, and at least it is easy to get a table now. It was pretty disappointing; I have enjoyed other fine dining meals much more. The restaurant is small and in an unprepossessing location. Presumably because of the latter, the restaurant has no outside view and felt a bit claustrophobic. Fortunately we were placed in the front room, as the back room is very crowded and noisy. (I had to fight my way through to get to the toilets!) Even in the front room, the tables for two were pretty close together - it didn't feel very comfortable. Speaking of which, neither were the chairs! As it's a two hour drive from home, we had allowed time for delays and when we arrived 15 minutes early, we were shown to a table and then saw no staff for at least 10 minutes - perhaps because we were so early! We had to ask for a menu. After that the staff were OK, but tended to go on too much about the food (in a rather rehearsed way) and not pay attention to us as customers. There was no choice; you got the set menu (very expensive) and that was it. I am not sure how it would go if you were vegetarian or had allergies or simply didn’t like something on the menu. I had read about lack of cutlery for the first few courses, so I asked for some - I got them, but the request wasn't all that well received. (What is all that about?) The food itself was fine, but not outstanding. The meal took four hours, and we were very tired by the end of it, but didn't want to leave before the desserts (which were the best part of the meal). We are glad that we tried it, but would not go again.
