I had a wonderful lunch with my friends here. The spacious atmosphere combined with the open kitchen creates a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The staff is attentive and friendly. I was particularly impressed by the dishes, especially the soda bread, potato rosti, and broccoli & bacon cream, which are definitely worth trying.
Came here to celebrate our Anniversary. The staff were very friendly and helpful with the menu. Really appreciate the restaurant using local ingredients, as we are tourist from abroad and really wanted to try out the local flavors. Dishes were fairly priced with good portion.
We were happy, that we had booked in the restaurant. The downstairs deli was very loud as we walked through. The restaurant on the 1st floor was much quieter. The bar upstairs was closed for a private function. We received a warm welcome. The service was a mixed bag. Some were very professional and friendly others were aloof and starchy. We had just received our cocktails when the first course of the set menu arrived. Couldn’t they have waited just a little? The venison tartar was lacking in flavour and the meat was fairly chunky for a tartar. The second course of salmon was extremely salty. It was served with homemade bread, which was more like cake and very sweet. For me there was no bridge between the two. The salad to follow was the star of the evening, unfortunately. Fresh and vibrant. The meat in the main course was sinewy and not an example of good Australian produce. The dessert was quite a good take on the Aussie pav. After the mains, I was asked, whether the course was to my taste. I gave my personal opinion, which was taken most seriously. I appreciated that.
We did not have any prior reservation at this restaurant but the host were kind enough to find us two seats at the bar. We ordered the 2 course lunch set menu. The pork belly and the trout was very delicious. We did not order the wine pairing because we were a bit short on time but the service was quick and efficient. The ambience is quite lively for a Saturday afternoon. All in all it was a wonderful quick lunch and will definitely try to return for a more relaxing lunch.
