came here for a weeknight dinner in East Melbourne, parking available at the front of the restaurant or around the corner, and opposite the train station. The ambiance and vibe was good, we sat near the window and had natural light shine in for a bit before darkness came. great venue for group dinners and hang outs. the pasta tastes authentic. I recommend the bolognese pasta, and gnocchi.
Geppeto Trattoria is a gem in Melbourne for classic Italian cuisine. The portions were generous, and every dish was packed with authentic flavors, just like you would expect from a traditional Italian kitchen.To top it off, the service was excellent – attentive, friendly, and truly made us feel at home. I highly recommend this spot for anyone craving an unforgettable Italian meal.
We were blown in the door by one of those nasty Melbourne winds, but inside everything was calm and welcoming and we felt at home straight away. I couldn’t believe how busy it was at six o’clock! We knew immediately that we had made the right choice for our special dinner. Although I didn’t actually choose from the vegan menu, I was so impressed that vegan options were available, along with several more traditional vegetarian dishes. I chose spinach cannelloni with insalata (and a Birra Moretti or two) and my companion had the Vitello all'Avena with Prosecco. We finished up by sharing the beautiful Pere al Sangiovese. I can’t wait to go back and try some more dishes from this enticing menu and enjoy the family hospitality again.
Excellent Italian food in a traditional Trattoria. Great pasta, seafood and steak. Attentive wait staff and an owner who walks the room to talk to customers.
