Having never been to a New York steakhouse, Walter’s seem pretty close to what online videos present. The fit-out and atmosphere all lean into those another era vibes. The porterhouse steaks were amazing. Lobster pasta was a standout favourite. We ordered another because we couldn’t get enough. Which does lead to one downside, and that is the appetisers are fairly small portions. The $150 seafood platter I would not get again. The service was friendly and very helpful in explaining things and providing suggestions on what to order. Special birthday accommodations were really appreciated.
Exceptional! I only bother leaving reviews when something is exceptionally good or exceptionally good and this was one of the good ones! Love the food recommend the Signature Porterhouse was cooked perfectly and one of the best steaks I've ever had. Also recommend the mash potato and the mulled wine poached pear for dessert All the staff were amazing and friendly especially our waiter Fernando he was awesome! They gave us each a free ice cream with a candle and port because it was our birthdays and even sung happy birthday to us! The free ice cream came after we had already ordered dessert and they even checked with us after giving the ice cream to make sure we still wanted our dessert in case we were full Definitely coming back!
Had a mid week lunch. Restaurant was quite busy and incredibly noisy. Very difficult to have a conversation. Food was OK but not something we would go back for. Had the lamb, sadly lacked flavour as though it had been pre cooked. Steak was average at best. Lovely building, staff were good.
I thought the steak specialty was not as good as it used to be although other aspects of this restaurant are just as good. It's very much a blokey place on a Friday lunchtime and can be quite noisy. It's got a very good wine list which is not particularly reasonably priced, but that's what happens. I found most of the staff exceedingly helpful and pleasant.
