They only allow reservations for a small percentage of the tables so we walked in and waited for a table instead and the wait was a bit over 30 minutes. Our favourite was definitely the duck Ragu the sauce was nice and thick and had a nice meaty taste, my boyfriend said it was one of the best pasta’s he’s every tasted including the ones he’s had in Italy. The calamari was also super light and crispy, though it the photo it looks like there isn’t any batter. The service was good but not anything outstanding since they were so busy.
Venue is *LOUD* and tables are close. But the food is exceptional and service also flawless. We ‘tried our luck’ as a walk in, and arrived at 11:30 for 12pm lunch. In the first few people queued, and this queue extended until they opened at 12. We were seated well, given water straight away. When they took our order they asked if we were seeing a show, and the order we’d like our food. Then gave us bread and oil. Ordered fried artichokes as entree (beyond delicious!), tartufo pizza and rocket salad for main, and some drinks. Pizza was incredible and the salad was perfect. It is very noisy inside when the place is all closed up, and next time I’d opt for outside (today there was a massive storm).
This restaurant has exceptional Italian food and is in a very convenient location for pre QPAC show dinners. We visited this restaurant for the first time in a number of years (we reside in Perth) and were delighted to discover that the quality of food, wine and service had not diminished. I enjoyed the ceviche Salmon whilst my wife ordered the Calamari entrees. Both were expectational. For mains my wife ordered the Tuna Pizza special, i ordered the roasted half chicken with accompanying roasted Potatoes . Again wonderful food. The wine list is small in number but does have very good quality options. Lastly were walk- ins to the restaurant at 5 pm and our show was commencing at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre at 7. This restaurant filled up very very quickly so our advice would be to book to guarantee a table. We were shown to seats at the bar by the very well organized and experienced front of house manager and were served at our seats by a wonderful staff member , Ava. This restaurant was the start of an exceptional evening of fine food and wine and wonderful play at QPAC- Love Stories. Thank you to the staff at Julius for helping to make our evening memorable
Right opposite Queensland Museum (which is also very good). Not surprised we had a 30 mins wait (it was approx 7.45pm) as it was the evening of Night Fire, part of the Brisbane week festival. Nice pizza, nice beer. Efficient, and friendly staff. They rake your mobile number (if that works for you) and give you a call when your table is free. There are a couple of bars close bar to kill the wait.
