The chicken & sausage & quail egg & sticky rice set is my favorite food in Saigon, in Vietnam. The chili sauce is so delicious and i believe it is specifically cooked by their own, not bought randomly from supermarket. It’s basically a street small restaurant in the downtown Saigon and only 250 meters from Saigon center. I ate it like a street snack or most of my time as one of my meals in the day. The restaurant family are nice people. And the price is good, all of the set mentioned above is 40,000vnd.
Xôi Gà Number One (Chính Gốc) is a Michelin-recommended spot offering a quintessential local snack or simple dish. While the price is reasonable and the food appeals to many, it didn’t quite meet my taste preferences. The dish is an authentic representation of local cuisine, but the flavors didn't resonate with me as strongly as I had hoped. Nonetheless, it’s worth trying for those who appreciate traditional Vietnamese street food.
Corner small restaurant selling very good sticky rice . We order sticky rice with chicken drumsticks. It contains some crispy shallot but Chili super Spicy but was good. We enjoy very much
After our dinner and shopping at the nearby Takashimaya, we came by here for supper. Since we have had a heavy dinner, we decided to go for something light and thus ordered the Vietnamese Spring rolls (10,000 dong each). This was not the first time we came here as we visited the restaurant in our last visit to HCMC in December 2018. It is just located next to Papaya Hotel. The spring rolls were nice and fresh and what made them perfect was the peanut sauce that came with them. It was very fragrant and a little spicy but was extremely tasty and yummy! (in our previous visit, we tried the sticky rice and that was also very nice) Staff were friendly and though they do not really speak English, we could still communicate with them, with the help of the price labeled menu that is in both Vietnamese and English language.
