It was one of my greatest experiences. The food was heavenly, and the service was amazing. I gave 4/5 to the atmosphere because we had to sit outside, and it wasn’t very comfortable. I would definitely revisit them and recommend them to foodies who want to try Mediterranean cuisine.
This place is truly wonderful. Their course meal option is excellent, so it's best to arrive with an empty stomach; you might struggle to finish all the food otherwise. The ambiance is fantastic, and I highly recommend sitting inside for a nice view. The outdoor seating is located in an alley and doesn’t offer any views.
Our son managed to book a table for us when we visited from the UK. The place is quite hard to get a reservation for and is well reviewed thanks to its Michelin star. The place is down an alley and there is no signing outside, just a big blue door. The inside is absolutely buzzing and lively, and the massive grill area on show provides a great focal point of activity. We dined upstairs overlooking the ground floor grill, which is a little quieter but still very busy. The menu is great and the service attentive. The food? Well, it's typical Lebanese/Middle Eastern food, admittedly with a lot more pizzazz but there's only so much you can do with it. There's no point in making it pretty as it defeats the object, and it doesn't lend itself to very much creativity or subtlety ('Masterchef' it ain't), so you just have to go with it (but take my advice and don't fill up on bread and 'meze' to start). You'll probably have a great time here - we did! - but then you'll get the bill and think - really?! Is it that much better than other middle-eastern restaurants at half the price? You be the judge.
I enjoyed the most fabulous wine dinner with the guests and staff of Maydān. Everything from the warm greeting upon arrival, to the professionalism of every member of the staff, to the delicious Middle Eastern assortment of courses and beautifully paired wines of Ch Musar, was perfect! I could not recommend this restaurant more highly! When you want a beautiful experience - come to Maydān!
