This was Hands Down the best meal on our road trip. The craft cocktail cart was super cool, they made my smoked old fashioned tableside! The wine list was impeccable and the in house Somalis was wonderful. I had the Wagu ribeye and I could literally cut it with a fork, it was beyond tender! Complimentary French fries were a nice touch. The bone marrow appetizer was absolutely decadent. Loved the experience from start to finish! Thank you
For a celebratory banquet dinner, Bourbon Steak was exceptional from start to finish. The private room was tastefully decorated with white roses. The filet mignon, king salmon, mac & cheese, and broccoli with chili garlic crunch were the standout dishes. They provided great service throughout the evening.
OMG. This chef doesn't know the difference between phylllo dough and panko. Who fries sole? Prices$ are outrageous. $22 for a slice of apple tarte tatin? Seriously? So if you want to be super pretentious go to this place and spend $400 on caviar appetizer. It would be ok if they knew the difference between phyllo and panko, but they don't. If you find yourself here outside of your control, the bar burger is actually good. And oh, for the holidays, 0 atmosphere in the restaurant.
Six stars for Bourbon Steak at The Four Seasons, DC. They are the only restaurant that wow me speechless when I sit down at the table. Literally. When I became a vegan a couple years ago, I called Bourbon Steak a couple days before our reservation to make sure I would have a few choices at a steak restaurant besides the kale garnish. I spoke with the manager and explained my preferences (vegan, gf, no sugar, oil or salt, extra raw onions and cooked mushrooms and quinoa not rice if it was available). I called ahead so I didn’t have to go through the whole litany at the table. When we arrived for a celebratory family dinner, the waiter greeted me and said the chef had prepared my meal and not to even place an order. They sent out a fresh, crunchy, salad full of raw veggies and onions. My entree was an artistic arrangement of steamed veggies (and mushrooms and quinoa). I was so appreciative and we had a wonderful evening. Then, when we returned a month or so later (I did not call in advance), we were seated and again, the waiter said the chef had created an appetizer salad and cooked veggie main dish for me. I didn’t need to say anything again. The meal was perfection. Last night we went for a fun family dinner and we sat down. Once again, before I could say anything our waiter said I’d be taken care off. Have you ever had service like this anywhere? I sure haven’t. My meals at Bourbon Steak are better than most meals at vegetarian restaurants and even many vegan ones since they all (except for Greenfare in Herndon, VA) contain sugar, oil and or salt. Whenever we want to go out for fine dining in DC, we always choose Bourbon Steak. Thank you to all the staff for making me feel so welcome!
