We went for the summer restaurant week. You get a cold and a hot appetizer, assortment of sushi and a dessert. We opted for the soft shell crab and shabu shabu ramen, both were delicious and served hot out of the kitchen. Sushi is top quality and decadent of course. Hojicha pudding is uniquely toasty and silky. Not all RW deals are worth going, but I’d recommend the selection at sushi taro for the quality and the value of the food.
Employees were discreet and professional when clearing waste and empty dishes. I was able to carry on conversation without interruption, many times was not aware (very well managed). Sound system is noticeably high quality. Food was the best quality in both ingredients and preparation. Grade of fish was recognizable, high quality. Dietary accommodations are exemplary, and do not result in a poor dish due to restrictions. Courses, beverages and desserts. Reserved seating was very private. Clean building, seats, and tables. Beautiful atmosphere. Arrive hungry: you will want more! Best experience.
We have been here two dozen times over the last 10 years, and we have never had a single bad dish, bad service, or bad time. Hands down my favorite restaurant in DC, all around. Also, the sushi is fresh and *fantastic*. Do not question coming here. You will not regret it.
The food is amazing. It is pricy indeed! sashimi is fresh and agedashi tofu dish is delicious. Service is efficient, but I feel the waiters and waitresses are really indifferent. They are not even friendly, maybe because I look poor, come by myself and didn’t make reservation. It makes me feel a little weird. Anyway, I came to Washington DC for my business trip. I had this great opportunity to enjoy some authentic Japanese food by myself without chasing my little kids :) it is a quiet and enjoyable meal.
