Fantastic sums up my whole experience there. The service was excellent, the waiter was attentive to our table's needs and had great suggestions. The mocktails were delicious. The food, oh my the food, was amazing. The flavor profile 🤌🏽 The Korean fried chicken is a must. The shrimp dumplings in the green butter sauce, my word. I could eat everything with a side of that sauce. The entrees were just as delicious. If you think a fried rice is a boring choice, thing again. Loved the combination of spices in every dish our table ordered. Looking forward to going back again!
We learned about this place from Somebody Feed Phil and had to try it on our next visit. They have limited reservations but we were lucky enough to find one on a weeknight. A short bus ride away from city center, we sat at the bar for a bit and got some very good drinks and then sat at our table. We ordered the chikin and the mandu to start, the ssam board to share, and the s’mores panna cotta for dessert. The mandu were great, the chikin dish was huge and basically a whole meal so would def recommend sharing with a group or plan to take it home. The ssam board was big enough to share (if you’re also getting apps) and was very tender and had good flavor. But the star of the meal was dessert. The panna cotta was not too sweet and had a rich chocolate gelato. No matter what you order I’d at least order this! I’m usually not a marshmallow fan but it was actually great. The staff were super nice and helpful, they definitely have an efficient system going to serving people with kindness and getting everyone out quickly.
* strawberry lychee lemonade was good * Very busy on friday evening * Mandu was only 5 pieces, crumbles apart but is good. * Ramyun fried rice has dried noodles on it, adds an interesting crunch. Overpriced for such a mid meal * Overall overpriced for a place that doesnt have authentic Korean dishes * Overpriced even for DC
Anju definitely lives up to the well deserved hype that it has. We had the chikn and shrimp dumplings as an appetizer and they were very good portions and was bursting with flavor. For the main we had the branzino which melted in your mouth. The sauce was very flavorful and had a well balanced amount of spice. It also came with kimchi and white rice. We wrapped up this incredible meal with the black sesame tres leches which was a great twist on an Mexican classic. Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely be back.
