I have much less experience with food from Central and South America and so I made a reservation with no real knowledge or expectations for what I would experience. I am happy to say that I was completely blown away by the food and the experience the chefs have created. They provided a full 14 course tasting menu the way I remember first experiencing them years ago. Not just little bites, but full courses that bring you through a full meal progression. Even though there is no meat, don’t think you won’t be fed. They give you full portions and the creativity of how they use mushroom, coconut, and other fruits and vegetables was refined and elevated. Each course had a story that was shared by a rotating team and sometimes by chefs themselves. I asked one of them why they had chosen to open a vegan restaurant. Their answer was that he wanted a challenge, a way to showcase food beyond caviar and wagyu. I think they have proven that with receiving their first star in only one year of service. I will definitely return with friends, with a strong warning to come hungry.

Was visiting from New York and I’m so happy I was able to experience the 14 course tasting menu. Flavor, presentation, service, dedication to storytelling, passion in voicing the Latin influences, I could go on and on. It’s clear how incredibly talented the chefs are. The. Cocktails. This is an experience of it’s own. I was craving for something spicy and the mixologist made me a spicy raspberry margarita. Definitely hit the spot. This was on top of the three other exceptional cocktails I had. I left extremely fulfilled. 10/10 recommend :)

This is our 3rd trip to Mitas. Each time the experience was top notch both in food quality and service. I am a Spanish food snob but on this trip we did branch out a bit on the suggestion of a friend and tried the "sliders" The only thing about them was a trocito of Jamon, however the quality of the meat and the taste of the overall burger combination was amazingly good! Though the octupus dish tastes spanish it's preparation is unlike any plate I've ever eaten in Spain over the last 40 years. It's 5 star quality for sure but for my taste I'd much rather have a plate of perfectly cooked potatos and large cuts of octupus sprinkled with kosher salt and smoked paprika. Though not SPanish either were the pork belly tacos, but I found my self secretly chanting GET IN MUH BELLLY as I at mine. YUM!!!! I will be back for sure. Sooner than later.

Park in nearby parking lots. Made a reservation. Upon arrival we were promptly greeted, our reservation recognized and seated to our preference. The Spanish style dining take a little to get used to. We enjoyed the tapas and racciones. Tasty food, served appetizing. Knowledgeable, attentive, courteous waitstaff. The décor is blah but the very high ceiling with noise damping panels allows for lower noise levels and good conversation. The background musing IMO was too loud.
