Bombay Club DC Review: 4.4/5 Bombay Club is a great spot for Indian cuisine located close to the White House. I visited with my boss, so apologies for the lack of food photos. The service was fantastic—friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The atmosphere was very formal and high-class, creating an elegant dining experience. The food was terrific. We had the tandoori salmon and chicken with naan and the kale. The kale was definitely the star of the night. Overall, Bombay Club offers a superb dining experience with exceptional service and delicious food in a refined setting.
Despite the high expectations set by the reputation, my experience was far from satisfactory. Upon arrival, I encountered a lack of attentiveness from the staff, which significantly detracted from the overall dining experience. To begin with, our order got messed up. The main course was brought out at the same time as the appetizer, which disrupted the flow of our meal and left us feeling rushed. Definitely not the experience I was hoping for!
Disappointed. The vegetarian items were lackluster and vegan items were rare. For a fine dining place, I hope they make some changes as it’s a charming place.
We hadn't been here in a while; say about two years or so ago. Did it survive the pandemic intact? Oh my, YES! Upon entry you feel as though you are in an immensely comfortable, old-world club. In Bombay? Maybe; possibly before the name change to Mumbai. Whatever . . . . I had the Mulligatawny soup, which was -- hands down -- the best Mulligatawny I've ever had. (A week later, I remember the taste.) My wife had the Dahi Puri, delightful small shells stuffed with complex goodness. For mains, I had the lamb Vindaloo; gorgeously tasty. My wife had the Bombay Thali, a collection of dishes in true Thali tradition. We shared an onion kulcha, which I vowed not to eat given the consumption I knew I'd achieve and my perennial diet. Right. Ddidn't happen. Delish. The setting, A+. The service. Amazing. (Thank you Mohammed.) Overall: GREAT!
