Employees were all exemplary! Everyone was polite and attentive. Didn't matter if they were your servers or not they truly cared. Cocktails were different and tasty. Food was delicious and well plated. Will definitely be returning for more of the atmosphere and food.
This was my first time at Ocean Prime, and it was one of the best dining experiences. It was my birthday dinner so I was looking forward to great drinks and food. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was perfect for a celebratory meal. Our appetizers of sushi roll and calamari were delicious. The lobster linguini and blackened snapper were a 10/10. Truffle mac and cheese was creamy perfection. The butter cake was the best finale to dinner.
Good. Butter cake is worth the visit. This wasn't my first pick for our date night in Philly, but because it's the holiday season, this was the only reservation available with three weeks notice. At 7pm the crowd was eclectic. Families, all age couples. I was disappointed that given the time, and the extravagant prices, there was not an enforced dress code. My husband and I dressed up and it was disappointing to see so many people in ripped jeans, ball caps and even ski caps. The food was average. Husband ordered a well gin and tonic and a 6 oz house cab and it was 62.00!! But the butter cake is beyond fabulous. I'd go back just for that. I wasn't impressed with the crowd the place draws. At all. I actually wondered if some of the ladies were call girls. Very good server.
After my Brother went to OP in New York, I decided to celebrate my Birthday at the Philadelphia location. I was very disappointed. I order the best steak on the menu (Birthday vibe) and it was tasteless. The mash potato's tasted like they were out of a box. I order an Old Fashion which was awesome and the crabcake appetizer. That too was very good. However, I went to enjoy a delicious steak and would rate it a 1 out of 10. It was the cost (total 200+), it was i had a expectation that was even close. I've eaten at Ruth Chris and almost cried because it was so good. I took a chance and lost. I wouldn't have written a review, but it was my birthday. I told the waitress and "sorry" was all I got ad she handed me a bill with included a suggest $40 tip. I gave her half and still felt like that was too much. I would not recommend Ocean Prime to anyone. Glad I ate alone, $400 for less than par food would have been too much.
