After spending a fortune on meals in Miami Beach, we had decided that we wanted to have cheaper and faster eats tonight and ran across Taquiza. Coming from Oklahoma where we have fantastic Tex Mex I’m always hesitant to eat Mexican food outside of our central area. This restaurant did not disappoint. Don’t skip the chips. They are bomb and different than anything I’ve had. We got the queso, it came with salsa which was fresh and I really liked it. Bit a huge fan of the queso though. Affordable eats on the beach. Too bad there’s construction and you currently can’t see the ocean right now. Fast, affordable and filling!
Came back to Miami just to show this place off. Chips....off the chain! Tacos....even more off the chain! Do not miss eating here. You will be missing out if you don't. Second time in two years from Dallas, and believe that there will be a third! As seen on the Travel Channel! Great staff, excellent food. Atmosphere is sweet and it's right on the beach! Highly recommended.
I've been coming here on every trip to Miami since 2019. It's a must stop for me. I love the totopos and fresh guacamole. Everyone who has come with me loves the totopos too. Taquiza is such an awesome little restaurant and I hope to return for many years to come.
Food has gotten worse :( Came here when it opened. Now the meat tacos are super hard and some strange flavor with regards to the shrimp taco, I think it’s the oil. My impression is that they don’t cook anything (reheated) as the food comes out too fast and the sauces on it are made to cover the flavors. Totopos are deep fried / not original. Will not come again, and I live here.
