Valet available. Thought it was peculiar that it's right next to a Korean soup place. There is $50 corkage fee. Service was tentative - good amount of spread of stuff. Portion could be larger, you should get your own plates. I personally liked every dish I ordered. Perfect ambiance for a date night or with your friends! Overall they did a good job. You HAVE TO GET THE BREAD AND THE PISTACHIO ICE CREAM.
Wow, absolutely delicious meal. The bread and summer specials were show stoppers in themselves. Summer tomates prepared like that and served to the masses would solve world hunger and stop wars. Fresh pastas and the ribs (dry rub, of course) were so flavorful. That pistachio ice cream is the best I’ve ever had (and Ive had my fair share). The place is intimate and low lit, if a tad warm, but great service and the perfect spot for a birthday celebration. Thanks for being a spot on my to try list that I’m only sad to cross off because it means I can’t experience it for the first time anymore. Will absolutely be back.
Second time eating at Antico Nuovo and not as good as the first time. First the good part, - Food: the focaccia, plin dell’ Alta langa and the pollo e crostone were excellent as was the pistachio gelato. - Service: Rebecca was our server and was wonderful. She was very attentive and courteous. - Ambiance: the place was full of patrons with a vibrant ambiance, loud at times. - The not so good: the caponata was not very good. Essentially some marianated onion with eggplant but no olives to be found and pricey. The kingfish crudo was below average and overpriced. The spaghetti ricci di mare was inedible. Very salty and had to be returned. - Value: not very good for the quality of the food. A restaurant of this category should have an impeccably tasting menu
We felt rushed by the staff every step of the way. Everyone was polite but insistent on getting our orders and moving fast. Expecting a nice experience, the three of us were there for maybe an hour. And the place was not full. The food was very good but not outstanding. The wine list is made of less known Italian and French wines but we managed to find an excellent Beaujolais at a good price. We were visiting our daughter in LA and she chose the restaurant... a pity.
