From the moment you walk in, it’s clear that this is a place where people truly care about the food, the service, and the atmosphere. Every detail is thoughtfully curated to create an experience that feels both personal and exceptional. The menu features Southern staples with a elevated fine dining twist, and the quality of the ingredients shines through in every bite. Each dish is full of deep, layered flavors—nothing is bland or predictable. The cornbread alone is worth the visit, but truly, there’s no wrong choice here. Virtue brings Southern food to life in a way that’s both familiar and exciting, and the attention to detail is evident in every dish. In a city full of amazing food, Virtue has to be right at the top. We enjoyed an amazing meal with both “large rations” (short rib, half chicken, blackened catfish, and fish & grits) and smaller shared dishes (green tomatoes, biscuits & pimento, collard greens, mac & cheese, and honey cornbread). It was so fun to each have an entree and share everything else. Every dish was passionately crafted, full of flavor, and thoughtfully served. We absolutely loved everything we ate. A truly memorable meal and I can’t wait to come back.

What a wonderful dining experience! All of the awards are well deserved. Our party of four was seated promptly. Stephen, our server, was very helpful. It was hard to decide from the great menu. But, everything was prepared to perfection, including the sides, and it was all delicious. Next time we visit Chicago, we'll come back to Virtue. Keep doing what you're doing!

Excellent food, service and drinks. Convenient location if you want to get out of downtown and see Chicago’s Hyde Park. Our server, Freddy, knows his stuff. The staff are more than friendly and helpful. We enjoyed biscuits, fried green tomatoes, gumbo and blackened redfish with grits and crab etouffee.
