Each waitress that came to my table was very warm and pleasant. I didn’t get to meet the manager but the staff ran this place like a well tuned machine. I want to admit the portion sizes are very well thought out especially if your hungry. I was mostly filled from the Texas fries…🤤(deemed my favorite southern dish) My only word of advice is be prepared to wait to be seated due to the high volume of orders the staff (even the host) were extremely swamped. I must add that it was done well and tastefully with a smile and as timely as possible.
We came to Fox Bros after attempting to try them previous times, (they were sold out 2 days in the row) and this time they had all sides except baked beans. Mike the FOH manager, took our order and was efficient, answered all questions, and empathized with us on the food items that weren’t available. After placing the order we sat for a few minutes and the Head Chef, Gwen, came out to inform us the brisket wouldn’t be as lean as we were expecting. This proactive step was important because she gave us the option to confirm if we still wanted the food we ordered. Two minutes later she showed us what the brisket cut would look like. This level of care is UNHEARD of! We confirmed and thanked her for her kindness towards us. Once our order was ready, Chef Gwen offered us 2 fountains beverages and a dessert for the inconvenience. Chef Gwen going the extra mile meant more than we could put into words. We appreciate how Fox Bros handled us, especially after having a long week. Thank you! Our order: Lean Brisket Plate Mac and Cheese Collard Greens We will be back in the near future to say hello to Chef Gwen and Mike. Hopefully we’ll be able to try their baked beans and ribs.
Sure, I have a $500 slow-smoke grill on my deck. But I still make the trip from Dunwoody to Decatur's Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q. Once you've tasted their food, you'll understand why. Even though I pass several other barbecue joints along the way, Fox Bros. never disappoints. So, next time you're in the mood for some great barbecue, embrace the Atlanta traffic and enjoy the ride. It's well worth the trip.
Yuck! After seeing many good reviews, we went to the Brookhaven location to see what all the fuss was about. We were very disappointed. The meat is served cold. There are only two sandwiches on the menu (a $17 "fatty" brisket sandwich and a chicken salad sandwich). The rest was just served as slabs of cold meat on a tray. The sauces were super vinegary and bitter with no sweetness at all. The baked beans and Cole slaw were the only good things we got. Luckily, the baked beans were piping hot, so I dipped my meat in them to warm it up. The green beans looked liked they'd been cooked for days - pale yellow and mushy - and were full of potato, onion and tomatoes which was not disclosed on the menu. We definitely won't be back.
