It was such a pleasure grabbing breakfast at the Silver Skillet. The staff that took my order was super friendly and helpful. I didn’t get any pictures of my food as it was a takeout order but I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich, catfish and fried okra and the pancake (which are HUGE). Everything was delicious. I would highly recommend this place & will certainly come back.

This is a classic establishment with a lot of history behind it . We arrived pretty early . And they had a line outside but we only waited about 5 minutes . There’s no outside seating . Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu . The silver skillet isn’t equipped to handle tables larger than 5 . It’s a small environment for four -5 people at a table max. The food comes out fast and they’re ensuring you’re enjoying everything while the service is in effect. My two major nit pick is the lack of a soda machine in 2024, and the brand of syrup being used . There should be no reason I’m purchasing a canned soda at a restaurant . There’s other syrup brands out there that taste a lot better . Those packets gave me elementary school vibes . Some things can evolve for the better (in my opinion ) . If you want to use the restrooms , they’re located in a separate building next door . All in all enjoyed my breakfast . They also have merchandise for sale and vintage candies u can purchase. It’s definitely a restaurant to try when ready .

flat undercooked pancakes....was given frozen butter and 3 small pods of cold syrup...greasy tasting pancakes with a hint of onions...the window blinds were open and sun blinding us..being disabled (bad shoulder) kept me from closing the blind as one waitress suggested..she ended up having to close it...she moved to the next table to close their blinds and told them it "isn't rocket science to close a blind", what an insult, I bet she didn't spend 12 years in college earning several degrees as I have..GO DUCKS! never felt that insulted in a greasy spoon diner before...maybe I need to go back to college and earn a degree in CLOSING BLINDS like she must have done, it isn't rocket science, but for some of us Senior Citizens waiting on shoulder replacement surgery, it sure feels like it..BTW---the Silver Spoon needs to shut down and do a heavy duty cleaning, get the dust off the blinds, the bugs out of the corners

We were in town on a business trip and the food was so good that we visited both days we were in town for business. In addition to the GREAT food, the service was decent (understandable for a packed diner). Our table of seven really enjoyed the food on both visits. For anyone looking for breakfast I HIGHLY recommend this Veteran friendly restaurant.
