This afternoon, I had the pleasure of indulging in what I can only describe as pizza perfection. From the very first bite to the last, every element of this culinary masterpiece came together in harmonious delight. I had the Margherita with pepperoni. The crust was a standout feature—thin, yet with just the right amount of chewiness, perfectly charred at the edges, and kissed with a subtle smokiness from the wood-fired oven. It served as the ideal base, both structurally and flavor-wise. The sauce was a revelation. Fresh tomatoes blended with a hint of garlic, basil, and olive oil created a vibrant, tangy layer that tasted as though it had been made moments before being spread. It wasn't overpowering, allowing the toppings to shine. Speaking of toppings, they were superb. Generous slices of creamy mozzarella paired with fresh basil leaves and a drizzle of high-quality extra virgin olive oil turned a simple Margherita pizza into a gourmet experience. The ingredients were clearly of the highest quality, and the balance of flavors was impeccable. What truly elevated the experience was the care in preparation. Each pizza was crafted with attention to detail, and it was evident that the pizzaiolo took immense pride in their work. Served hot, with the cheese perfectly melted and just beginning to bubble, it was nothing short of heavenly. Paired with a refreshing drink and the cozy ambiance of the pizzeria, this pizza was not just a meal—it was an experience. I’ll be dreaming about this pizza for weeks and will undoubtedly return for another round. Highly recommended! No military discount and plenty of parking.
Order first, pay and wait for your food. Salads are self service out of the fridge. Tap water from a sink. No ice. But there is beer from the tap and other beverages, too, including the Italian Peroni. It’s not a restaurant! You take a seat on a wooden bench in an open kitchen. Plastic silverware. Great smell. And then the pizza was brought to your table. Delicious with original ingredients like tomatoes from Italy. We’d come back when in Atlanta.
I’ve wanted to try AP forever and finally got the chance yesterday. 🍕 The start of our experience was, shall we say, inauspicious. The lunch hostess was rude and roughly as welcoming as a dyspeptic honey badger. The only thing more fake than her eyebrows was her smile. 🍕 Undeterred by this unfortunate opening chapter, we proceeded to the back. And it was here that the magic began. Greeted by the piquant aromas of the large open kitchen, we had a seat and took it all in. One chef carefully lifted and turned a pizza in one of the three ovens, while another quickly prepped toppings with a rhythmic rat-a-tat-tat. 🍕 Our Margherita fully met expectations - the chew and leoparding of the crust, the robust flavor of the sauce, the quality of the mozzarella, the proportions and the appearance - all deserved high marks. 🍕 The accompaniments were outstanding, with particular kudos to the Calabrian chiles, both within a prepared sauce as well as served individually.
