The restaurant is gorgeous with plenty of seating inside n out. The wings and chai for 2 were delicious. Chai for 2 comes with lots of tea and lots of snacks. The dahi puri was good. Snack prices are hiked up; you can get the same snacks at the indian grocer for much cheaper.
Utterly delightful! One of the things that the US has never figured out is the greatness of the local markets in other countries. We are so consumed with bigger is better and mass produced is more profitable. From the moment you walk through Ponce City Market on the way to Botiwalla the vibes are great. Then you sit down with something slushy, your noshe of choice arrives and you are transported to another country entirely! I had the Desi Salad with Malai Salad - amazing! If the opportunity presents itself, stop by, it certainly won't disappoint!!!
Stopped in for a quick bite and love it. The menu is not big but has a little of everything. I had the Desi Salad and added Lamb, this salad was great and I would highly recommend it. My husband had the Melai Chicken Roll and he was very pleased as well.
Some very flavorful Indian street food on offer at Botiwalla at the Ponce City Market. This is definitely an Americanized version of the street foods available in India, but they do so with a characteristic flair and an ambiance to go with it. The restaurant interior looks a lot like a dhaba, with movie dialogs and old advertisement themed posters plastered on the walls, and it gives a lively charm to the place. We tried the savory puffed Dahi Puri (SPDP) and it was quite delicious. But the best thing we ordered turned out to be the Tikka Rolls. Both the Chicken Tikka Roll and the Paneer Tikka Roll were excellent - they were filling, flavorful and not overly spicy, absolutely perfect. A special mention for the chai, which was also super refreshing. The menu, ambiance and the culinary delight this place provides makes this a must visit for anyone who loves to try out Indian food!
