The viral Crisp pizza - worth the hype or overrated? This will hardly be the location for a spontaneous dinner out: you must book your spots in advance because they have limited pizza bases each night. They reserve some for walk-ins, but if you’re going on a sunny evening or weekday, you’d want to head there before 4pm because it’s first come first served and there can be a long queue. We booked but it doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed a table, just the pizza. It’s a small pub, so you may be waiting for a table or people often perch on the pavement. Takes about 30-50 minutes for the pizza to come out, depending on if you arrive peak time. But it was worth the wait! Pizza was SO crisp and fresh, they allow flexibility with toppings. No vegan cheese but I got a marinara with added mushrooms and hot honey and I licked the plate clean - means a lot from me, I’m normally a pasta gal. Their hot garlic dip isn’t vegan but my friends were obsessed. Service super friendly but only one server on a busy night. Oh and it’s by the Hammersmith riverside so can walk the pizza off with a lovely evening river breeze after! 10/10 worth the hype.

Some of my favorite pizza ever. These pies are baked to crispy perfection and are so high quality. Both the Tie Dye and Pepperoni with hot honey are mind blowing, and my favorite use of Hot honey to date. If I lived close to here, I would be coming back often.

The pizza is great—some of the best I’ve had in London. However, the popularity they’ve gained over the last year has clearly gone to their heads. I turned up early, having “reserved the dough,” but was told that the tables are first-come, first-served. There were no tables available when I arrived, so I took one outside. When a table inside became free, I sat there, and my parents arrived shortly after. Our pizzas took 45 minutes to arrive, even though I had ordered early and was told they would take only 30 minutes. When the pizzas finally came out of the kitchen, the waiter walked around the pub shouting “Tom.” It was clearly my order, so I asked, “Do you mean Josh?” In a rude tone, I was told it was Tom and that my name wasn’t Tom. Over 7 minutes later, the same pizzas were brought to us. We complained that the pizzas had been walked around the pub several times and would no longer be hot. At the same time, the waiter told us to eat quickly because a large party had booked the table! While the pizza is great, they do not deserve the custom of so many diners. There are plenty of other great pizzerias in the area that are more willing to care for their customers.

A disappointing experience unfortunately. We booked 2 months ahead to “reserve our dough”. We arrived for our reservation at 1 and from the offset were repeatedly told we’d be served in 15 minutes. An hour passed and, after pressing at the bar once again, we were finally allowed to order. After another half an hour we then eventually received our pizzas. The pizzas themselves were good, although by the time they arrived we were in no fit state of mind to judge whether they really lived up to the hype. After complaining we were met with the excuse that all the reservations turned up at the same time that day (an issue we wrongfully assumed slot bookings were meant to fix). We did in the end receive a partial refund for the wait. So if you come prepared to wait in limbo for an hour and a half and are willing to navigate the arbitrary ordering system then maybe Crisp is worth a visit.
