Located in the vibrant heart of Soho, Bar Italia has been a beloved spot for coffee and Italian cuisine since 1949. With its charming outdoor seating, it's the perfect place to enjoy a relaxed meal while soaking in the lively atmosphere of London. Diners rave about the authentic Italian espresso and delightful pastries, particularly the pistachio tiramisu. The café caters to a diverse crowd, including families, couples, and groups of friends, making it a welcoming spot for everyone. While the service can be basic at times, the consistent quality of food and the café's rich history make it a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists alike.

Bar Italia, established in soho London in 1949, has gained more reputation and customers from Europe and Asia over the past two decades. I always love to have a quick lunch here. The prices are not the cheapest, and the service is basic, but the food is nice—especially the chicken Milanese with tomato and lettuce, which is fresh and tasty. The cappuccino is also really Italian-style, but it can be quite noisy at times.
Have lived in London over 25 years, only just come here. Delicious coffee and food on offer. Plenty of outside seating. Only scored it 3 stars for service due to an arrogance of one of the middle aged chaps behind the counter. He seemed insulted to be asked what the cakes and patisserie items were on offer. But he wasn't going to ruin our day, and we thoroughly enjoyed the cakes that we have no idea what they were called, along with a strong delicious coffee.
Bar Italia has always been an absolute classic reference point for Italians in London and Italians visiting London, and not only obviously: a place for anyone to find a taste of Italy in London. However, we were pretty disappointed to find no Italian staff at all 😢 We had a coffee (espresso) which was ok but we also fancied a grappa as we were visiting with two Veneti 😊 there was no choice, just the one grappa which we had never heard of and which was pretty bad (to put it mildly). The only thing that was effectively Italian were the decorations. What a disappointment for my first visit to this famous bar in Soho, a shame really. 🤔
Love love Love this cafe/bar in buzzing Soho! Great seating to watch the great and good of the street. Only reservation - the menu could include a few vegetarian/vegan options.🙂
