Amazing place - feels so secluded, which is lovely. Impressive wine list! I went for lunch with a friend and had the Friday set menu They charge 15% for service which is steep for the UK but I didn’t mind too much as the staff were attentive and friendly.

Went in with mixed feelings as the opinions tend to toggle for this establishment. The whole experience is very romantic, the welcoming, going up with the elevator, the old style high ceiling dining room, perfectly dimmed lights with lots of candles, beautiful decor. Service was attentive and well organized. In our visit the food was good and didn’t disappoint, British style dishes with some twists. Portions could be bigger but it wasn’t a huge deal breaker. Did the food leave us in awe tho? No but it definitely was not as negative as some of the reviews but then again it is a personal opinion. For the price you can definitely get much better culinarily experience but all in all it was worth to try it out.

Venue is lovely, can be either casual or romantic, whatever you want it to be. But £150 for two with no drinks whatsoever is a bit rich... The smaller dishes I can get over in terms of price. a chicken liver dish with figs and radicchio for c.£15 fine (on the high end but still...). A single scallop with black truffle and chestnut - £14 - pricey but fine can get it if stretching. But... - £28 for a sliced pork steak with a small bit of greens and a lump of quince? - £33 for a slab of cod, few mini-clams and some mash? No, it all adds up and, crudely, takes the p*ss. Dessert was pinky-width sliver of chocolate torte - for a tenner (!) - and it was a bit dry in all honesty. And a cheeky 15% service charge on top. Raise food prices or raise service charge, don't do both please. This is my 2nd time here and have to say the food is fine but you can find much, much better value food in London.

Fantastic venue! Tucked away like a secret place and only open if you know where it is. Marvellous service, wonderful surroundings and super atmosphere! The food is excellent but note these are sharing dishes and suggest you order more than you think as the portions are on the small side. Great wine list - something for everyone.
