Absolutely terrible experience at Thattukada! We ordered banana fritters expecting a delicious treat, but instead, we received two tiny, finger sized pieces for a whopping £3.49 each pair. They tasted and smelled like fish, prawn crackers, pappadom, and whatever else was cooked in that reused oil. It was disgusting and made us sick, with that awful oil all over our hands. Unfortunately, we bought 8 fritters and ended up throwing away 6 of them. Never again! I normally don’t give one-star reviews to any business, but Thattukada truly deserves it for showing such disrespect to their food and customers. Really pathetic! I recommend everyone to think twice before going there! ————————————————————————— Adding to my review today, the 6th of July, I received a reply accusing me of writing a fake review! We bought our meal from Thattukada as a takeaway. The receptionist went into the kitchen to prepare our order. The pictures were, of course, taken at our home. You can see my star rating to understand my level as a local guide - do you really think I would write a fake review? Absolutely ridiculous! I would recommend you may please take a lesson from my as well as the other recent 1 star reviews and understand the importance of good food & good customer services.
Came here with great anticipation but were very disappointed. We had the Chatti Choru recommended by the server. It was tasteless. The Fish Curry was made with tuna and was passable. The fried fish was stale, hard with lots of bones. The beef was chewy and full of gristle. The Fried Chicken was good but not great. The Pulisseri was OK, as was the Cabbage Thoran and the Tapioca. The Omelette was dry. The only saving grace was the Chammanthi. I definitely don't recommended this place in East Ham.
We went for Sunday Lunch .First of all, the staff were fantastic. We placed an order for Biriyani, Chatty Choru, and tea.The cuisine was delicious.Highly recommend.
Hygiene - Washrooms are badly maintained. Not clean. Food - Ordered Porotta, Beef roast, Appam and Mutton Curry. Worst food had till date amongst all the kerala restaurants in UK. Porotta was the refrigerated porotta just heated up and given. Mutton Curry was old and disgusting and we had to leave the curry as it is. Appam was fresh and good. Beef roast was average. We gave a review to the owner about the Mutton Curry. They were like it is fresh and prepared then. Without even heating the curry, it was presented to us. Why will I as a customer have such a food travelling till Eastham. But mistakes happen, and this will be the last visit to this restaurant.
